Peter Althoff

Peter Althoff is a graduate from the Art Institute of Phoenix March 2007, that majored in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. Immediately after started his first job at American Animation Studios,(AAS) where he undertook the roll of lead compositor. In his time at AAS he was involved in the release of 2 volumes in the “Histories Heroes” educational DVD sets, while also assisting with several other projects the company undertook. After his time there he relocated to the University of North Carolina to begin working at  Morehead Planetarium and Science Center.

He was the first of two “Interactive Animation and Media Design Specialists” to be hired as the founding talent of the Morehead Production Studio. Where he along with Animator James Kachelries,  generate FullDome experiences for grade-school children and general audiences. As the creative director of “Earth Moon, and Sun”, Peter was responsible for visualizing the modern adaptation of a classic analog show, and spearheading the first ever Morehead Original digital FullDome show. His ideas, and processes were actualized in the final product that currently is distributed to 13 planetariums world wide.  Since that success has worked on the recently released “Magic Tree House: Space Mission”, and a production short “Jeepers Creepers”. Along with several other promotional projects for the Planetarium.
