I often say that I’m more a designer than an artist. My creativity is as much about creating beautiful pieces of work as it is about creatively solving problems. I graduated from the Art Institute of Phoenix in March of 2007, with a bachelors in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. I had always wanted to be a magician and through slight of hand and misdirection be able to skillfully trick my audience. I unfortunately have large and clumsy hands. However, I found an outlet for my desire to immerse audiences, and inspire wonder through the digital smoke and mirrors of visual effects.
My focus for the past couple of years has been working in large format planetarium production creating 4k Full Dome video. I have become more engrossed in the limitless customization in Maya, while using 3d max for quick development and poly model generation. I have been exploring the wonderful planar tracking and improved workflow of After Effect CS5. I recently started working with the Cannon 5d Mark II and because of the exposure I’ve rediscovered a love for photography. I find myself dabbling in sculpting, and learning the process of generating foam latex appliances. I am forever tinkering and thinking about hypothetical scenarios, super powers, and all things epic.
